About The Role

This is an exciting opportunity based in Auckland for a finance professional to step into a pivotal role within a progressive commercial operations team. As Accounting Team Lead, you’ll be responsible for overseeing month / year-end financial close and statutory reporting ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial information. This role is a good mixture between strong technical accounting skills & business partnering.

Your expertise will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting and maintaining compliance standards. With a proactive, analytical mindset, you’ll uncover meaningful insights that drive informed decision-making. Leveraging your strong interpersonal skills and innovative approach, you’ll collaborate with stakeholders to improve processes within the wider network. In addition, someone who brings energy and is curious to shape the future, rather than just relying on previous processes will do well in this role.

Responsibilities

• Lead Financial Reporting – oversee monthly & year-end close for group consolidation.
• Partner cross-functionally to identify opportunities to simplify, standardise, or automate processes, and contribute to broader business initiatives with clear analysis and recommendations.
• Embed robust financial controls and policies, monitor key financial indicators, and drive improvements in accuracy and efficiency.
• Develop a high-performing team, providing expert guidance on the application of accounting standards, financial data management and support business changes with technical insights, ensuring accurate and compliant financial reporting.
