We are seeking an experienced Workshop Foreman / Leading hand to join our Auckland team.ResponsibilitiesEnsure the smooth running of the workshop by overseeing service personnel and assisting in the maintenance, repair, and servicing of vehicles.Oversee effective safe delivery of planned and breakdown response.Be autonomous in vehicle maintenance, ensuring obligations as a vehicle maintainer / repairer are met.Work with flexible hours, including weekends when required; may involve occasional work away from home.Travel to the Waikato and greater Auckland areas as required.QualificationsRequired : Minimum Advanced Trade Certificate (or equivalent) qualification as a diesel mechanic / Auto Electrician.Experience in heavy vehicle maintenance, equipment hire or related transport service industry.Demonstrated success leading a team, mentoring, and coaching in a heavy vehicle and / or engineering workshop.Driver's Licence, class 4.PreferredDemonstrated knowledge of crane types, Hiab's, crane operations and rigging principles and practice.Skills & AttributesTechnical competence matched with innovation and strong problem-solving.Good diagnostics skills in hydraulics and electrical.Good communication skills – written and verbal.Strong team player with superior communication skills at all levels.Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and meet exacting deadlines.A positive attitude and willingness to accept change and new challenges.Additional InformationWe are looking for someone with a proven record in automotive servicing and repair, preferably with experience in the construction, crane or transport industries.This is an autonomous role and we will be relying solely on you for all vehicle maintenance.Equal employment opportunity statement : Universal Cranes NZ is committed to equal employment opportunity for all and embraces diversity and inclusion within its workforce.
