Visitor For Older People

Are you ready to spread some joy?

Volunteer visitors bring companionship and a friendly chat to older folks in Taupo, Turangi, and Tokoroa who might be feeling a little lonely or isolated.You'll be matched with an awesome older person and visit for about an hour each week—your chats and visits will make a real difference in their happiness and well-being, and you'll find it's just as rewarding for you too!

Plus, you'll get : Ongoing support and training from our Age Concern CoordinatorThe chance to meet and connect with other amazing volunteers at support meetingsPetrol vouchers every December as a little thank you!

Requirements : Warm, friendly, and enjoy the company of older peopleRespectful of confidentiality and open to different culturesAble to commit to about an hour a week on a regular basisGood listening skills and empathy with older folksAfter you apply : Age Concern will be notified, and the Coordinator will reach out via email as soon as possible.Please note, we are closed from 22nd December to 9th January.
