About the role :

You will work within a team environment and culture that enhances the well-being of Whanau and delivers services in a culturally appropriate manner, consistent with the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi. You will use your well-developed clinical skills to provide patient centred care with a strong focus on Tikanga Maori based health solutions.

What you have to do :

• Triage patients and deliver appropriate clinical interventions
• Provide health screening assessments
• Assist with minor surgery and medical procedures
• Follow up test results and initiate ongoing nursing support
• Inform and educate patients and their whanau about health related matters
• Assist patients and whanau to access health services
• Develop and maintain links with Maori, community, professional agencies and patient groups

Skills & Experience :

• NZ Registered Nurse with current Annual Practising Certificate
• Authorised vaccinator and CPR certification
• NZ Nursing experience, preferably in the primary care sector
• Experience with diabetes management is advantageous
• Strong understanding of Maori culture, perspectives and Te Tiriti o Waitangi
• Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
• Ability to communicate effectively and develop productive relationships
