Clinical Genetics Fellow

Contract : 2 Years Fixed-Term, full time

Weseek a clinical genetics fellow to join our existing team in eitherChristchurch or Wellington. The advanced training (fellowship) period inNew Zealand is fixed-term for two years with an expectation that training willbe completed after a third year based in a clinical genetics service inAustralia.

Youshould be appropriately qualified, with a keen interest in the clinicalgenetics speciality.

Genetic Health Service NZ (GHSNZ is amultidisciplinary national service with clinical diagnostic, geneticcounselling and genetic laboratory components.

Capital,Coast and Hutt Valley district currently provides two Hubs for GHSNZ, based inChristchurch (South Island Hub) and Wellington (Central Hub). The two Hubsprovide clinical genetics services to 50% of the population of NZ, fromTaranaki in the North Island to Invercargill at the southern tip of the SouthIsland. Clinical staff in the two Hubs are part of the national serviceand work closely with colleagues in the Northern Hub based in Auckland.

• Qualification from an appropriate Medical body,evidence of registration with the relevant medical council and appropriateprofessional body affiliations.
• Passed RACP examinations or equivalent
• Keen interest in both working and training in clinicalgenetics
