Providing effective services to victims is central to delivering the policing services New Zealanders expect and deserve.
You will be helping Police to ensure we are carrying out our statutory responsibilities to victims, with a focus on victims of specified offences (s29 victims).
Specifically, you we be working in Victim Notification Registration - the process set up by agencies (Police; Department of Corrections; Ministry of Health) to provide registered victims and their Whanau of specified offences information about the release, escape and death of an offender.Responsibilities include : receiving and assessing victim notification applications, applying legislation from the Victim Rights Act to determine victims eligibility to receive notifications, triaging workload by urgency, monitoring defendants court outcomes as they move through the court proceedings and communicating with key stakeholders (internal and external).
