About the roleOur approach to procurement is to empower our staff to carry out their own procurement adhering to our procurement policy and the delegations assigned to each position.

Your role is to be a trusted advisor.You'll do this by : building relationships across the organisation,building expertise across a wide range of procurement scenarios, including roading, construction and supply contracts.ensuring our policy and good practice processes are followedplanning, monitoring and reporting on procurement activities across the councilproviding advice and support to the procurement committeechairing and supporting tender evaluation panelsmanaging our GETS listingsThis is a fixed term role, covering a secondment situation until approximately June 2026.About youWorking with us you'll get experience with a wide range of businesses.

We will value your knowledge of what a good procurement process looks like and your enthusiasm for coaching others to follow the process.You'll need to show us that you : have significant experience across procurement processes including Planning, sourcing and contract managementideally have a qualification in procurement such as CIPS qualification (or similar)great communication skills, thriving on building and fostering exceptional working relationshipshave the ability to build trust across the business quicklyhave excellent customer service and stakeholder management skillsare detail oriented, and understand the importance of accurate and complete documentation.What you need to do nowCome and join our Programme and Project Management team, and enjoy being across the whole organisation's work programme.
