About the role / Mo te turanga
Lead and line-manage a vibrant and well-resourced Guidance team (3 guidance counsellors, 1 social worker, 2 youth workers)
Oversee referral, triage and case management systems; ensure timely, safe, culturally sustaining support
Provide oversight, support and advocacy to all members of the Guidance team
Work closely with Deans, SENCO, SLT, and external agencies / whanau to wrap support around students
Use pastoral / attendance / wellbeing data insights to identify trends and drive interventions
Provide guidance counselling as part of your load and lead crisis response protocols when required.
NZ teacher registration (current practising certificate) and a recognised counselling qualification
Professional membership with NZAC (or eligibility / equivalent)
Demonstrated leadership : building high-trust teams, coaching staff, managing workload and systems
Understanding of restorative and culturally sustaining approaches; commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
Excellent inter-agency collaboration and whanau engagement.
A collegial, values-driven environment with strong leadership support
A capable, well-established team and opportunities to shape school-wide wellbeing strategy
Ongoing PLD and professional supervision; 2 Management Units (2MU) and time allowance by negotiation
