We’re looking for a registered kaiako to join our team at Busy Bees Silverdale Central and help nurture curiosity, build strong relationships and create meaningful learning experiences for our tamariki.

About us :

Busy Bees Silverdale Central is part of the Busy Bees Aotearoa whānau, giving you the support of a national organisation with the feel of a connected local centre. We are a Reggio Emilia inspired environment with six age based classrooms, where tuakana teina relationships, beautiful provocations and open ended natural resources make it easy to follow tamariki interests and design rich learning experiences. Kaiako here work with a strong focus on inclusion and culture, marking language weeks, kapa haka evenings and key cultural events with whānau. Weekly excursions to Northern Arena for swimming, our gardens and fruit trees, and a Healthy Heart aligned kai programme all provide real-world contexts for inquiry, hauora and sustainability. Kaiako are supported to grow confident, curious learners while continuing to grow your own practice.

About you :

You’re an energetic, caring kaiako with NZ teacher registration (ECE or Primary) and a strong grasp of Te Whāriki. You plan, assess and review confidently, creating play-based environments that spark curiosity. You communicate warmly, build responsive relationships with tamariki, whānau and colleagues, and keep supervision tight. You value bicultural practice, weave te reo Māori into everyday moments and champion inclusion.
