This pivotal role provides professional expertise and leadership in developing, maintaining, and auditing operational standards and procedures for Auckland's rail operations.ResponsibilitiesProvide expert advice on operational safety and rail standardsLead the development, review, and implementation of operational and emergency proceduresInvestigate incidents, analyse root causes and trends, and recommend improvementsConduct competency assessments for Train Service Managers and safety-critical staffRepresent AOR in key forums with KiwiRail, Auckland Transport, and industry bodiesSupport training programmes, including Rail Incident Controller and ICAM trainingChair operational working groups and coordinate emergency exercisesYour work will directly influence the safety and performance of Auckland's rail services, ensuring AOR continues to meet and exceed regulatory and operational standards.RequirementsYou'll bring : Extensive experience in rail operations - ideally as a Train Service Manager or in a similar supervisory roleIn-depth understanding of New Zealand rail rules, regulations, and safety standardsProven ability to prepare and implement technical and operational documentationStrong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skillsThe confidence to engage constructively with a range of internal and external stakeholdersHigh resilience, strategic thinking, and a commitment to continuous improvementWhy Join AOR?
