Senior Estimator

Overview

Join us as a Senior Estimator and be involved in the varied civil infrastructure scope of work. The position will be based out Penrose, Auckland. With proficiency in the software CCS Candy , you will be responsible for producing consistent, accurate cost estimates for projects, coordinating the tender process including effective and timely delivery of cost estimates as part of the bid management process. You will also prepare schedule of quantities, which is used in the tendering process while completing and updating quantity records. Your liaison with stakeholders will be with the Estimating Manager, Quantity Surveyors and Engineers on a regular basis.

In addition to above, you'll :

• Utilise your site experience to deliver cost estimates from first principles
• Provide support in the development of pre-qualification documents, participate in meetings with potential clients including assessment of alternatives and value engineering
• Assist with pricing inputs in accordance with the tender plan created for each project
• Prepare estimates by calculating various statistical data such as quantity take-offs and a schedule of quantities, used in the tendering process
• Recalculate quantities in the design or materials change
• Provide guidance to staff allocated to the tender / bid process and lead supplier negotiations
• Set up tenders using CCS (Candy) computer based estimating and cost control software
• Participates in post tender negotiations and provides supporting analysis and management of identified risks
