Uniformed Services Tutor
Location : Manukau, Auckland
Full-time | Permanent | On-site
About the role :
We are looking for a Uniformed Service Tutor to join our NZMA Manukau campus.
In this role you will directly influence the next generation of defence force / armed services, police & security personnel within New Zealand, sharing your experience, skills and training with students from many backgrounds and facilitating our Police & Uniformed Services preparation course.
In this role you will be walking into an energetic campus environment where value is placed on delivering outcomes rather than micro-managing work and tasks.
You will have autonomy to work in a way that gets the best results and will be expected to take responsibility and make things happen.
Some of your key responsibilities :
Deliver our Uniformed Services (Level 3) course in a way that brings our curriculum alive for the student in a fun, interactive and practical delivery mode.
Mentor students and track our student success through effective programme leadership and provide pastoral care.
Stay abreast of latest industry trends and make recommendations to programme design, assessment and curriculum development.
Support to grow the number of students gaining successful entrance into Defence Force, Security, or other uniformed services.
Qualifications
About you :
We are looking for individuals with a background in areas related to uniformed services, ideally in armed services, to teach our course.
In this role, you will also help our young students grow their knowledge of the uniform services, develop their physical skills needed to succeed, and support them in developing important technical and soft skills.
You must be an experienced professional with a passion for uniformed services.
You will need to be a strong communicator, and maintain a positive, enthusiastic attitude.
You need to be able to connect and build relationships with your students and stakeholders so the ability to respect and appreciate differences is certainly a must.
Previous teaching experience is not essential but highly advantageous.
All the resources will be provided to enable you to effectively deliver the programme and you will receive all the training and development opportunities required for your career development as an educator.
Required Skills And Experience
Proven background / experience in armed forces (or a recent veteran or reservist), police, or other relevant background
A strong drive to develop others and prepare them to achieve and be successful
High level of interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
A genuine interest in and passion for cultural diversity and developing relationships within the community
Group training or teaching experience in a multi-cultural environment (preferred but not essential) and the ability to work with others.
