Overview
Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Inventory Assistant to support our national stocktake operations and mobile inventory control. This role involves regular travel to various store and warehouse locations to conduct physical stocktakes, reconcile inventory records, and assist with inventory accuracy initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Travel to retail and warehouse sites across the region (and occasionally nationally) to perform scheduled and ad hoc stocktakes.
- Conduct physical counts of inventory and reconcile discrepancies with system records.
- Assist store teams in preparing for stocktakes, including training on procedures and use of inventory systems.
- Support mobile inventory control initiatives, including tracking and auditing stock in transit or temporary locations.
- Maintain accurate records of stocktake results and provide timely reporting to the Inventory Manager.
- Identify and escalate inventory issues such as shrinkage, miscounts, or procedural gaps.
- Collaborate with supply chain, store operations, and finance teams to ensure inventory integrity.
- Operate handheld scanning devices and inventory software during field visits.
- Ensure compliance with company inventory policies and health & safety standards during travel and on-site work.
Skills & Experience
Previous experience in inventory, warehousing, or retail operations preferred.Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.Comfortable with frequent travel and working independently in varied environments.Good communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse teams.Familiarity with inventory systems (e.g. ERP, POS, barcode scanners).Full driver’s license and ability to travel regionally and nationally as required.Travel Requirements
Travel across store and warehouse locations. Overnight stays may be required during major stocktake periods.
