We recently created four new Senior Product Owner roles, with one left and up for grabs. Our Product Owner chapter Guardians of technology that is foundational to how our organisation operates and grows. NZ Post and our technology ecosystem are evolving in both complexity and ambition.

About the role

Supporting our Consumer team, we’re looking for a strategic, tech-savvy leader who can turn big ideas into impactful outcomes. As a Senior Product Owner, you’ll shape the evolution of the platforms and products that keep NZ Post moving — from concept to delivery and beyond. You’ll lead in high-complexity domains, across multiple squads and / or technologies, with a focus on the Consumer Team — ensuring we are customer-centric and the first choice for anyone wanting to send parcels within NZ.

Responsibilities

• Set the direction for complex, cross-squad products that are critical to our business and customers.
• Connect vision to delivery — translating strategy into actionable roadmaps and prioritised backlogs.
• Lead and inspire — coaching other Product Owners, uplifting capability, and fostering a culture of agile, customer-centred delivery.
• Drive commercial impact — balancing technology investment with return on value and long-term platform health.
• Influence at the highest levels — partnering with senior stakeholders to make the right calls at the right time.

Qualifications

About You

You're a seasoned senior product leader who thrives at the intersection of vision, delivery, and stakeholder influence. You know how to connect big-picture goals with concrete action, shape roadmaps, coach teams, and make tough trade-off calls. You’ll demonstrate strong commercial acumen, balancing customer value, business goals, and technical effort to inform prioritisation and investment decisions.
