Overview

2026 Fixed Term Full Time Secondary Teacher – Biology, Science & Maths. This role is with Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools and, due to a leave cover, requires a full-time teacher with a combination of Biology, Science and Maths responsibilities.

Santa Maria College is a Catholic Girls’ Secondary School enriched with the tradition of the Sisters of the Good Samaritan, catering for over 800 students from Year 7–12. The college is authorised as an International Baccalaureate global school and offers the Middle Years Program (Year 7–10). Responsibilities

• Teach and support a combination of Biology, Science and Maths subjects as a full-time teacher.
• Demonstrate effective communication skills (written and verbal).
• Foster positive developmental outcomes for adolescents and emerging young adults.
• Utilise ICT for communication and record keeping.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with students, staff and parents; collaborate as a member of a team.
• Plan and prepare with strong organisational and administrative skills.
• Maintain VIT Certification and uphold safeguarding responsibilities.
• Support the college’s relational management and restorative practices.
• Create a positive learning environment that is respectful and motivating for students.
• Participate in professional development and school activities, including after-hours activities as required.
• Be open to participating in extra-curricular and co-curricular programs as required.
• Demonstrate knowledge of Mandatory Reporting and Child Safety expectations and standards.
