Role Description / Criteria

Santa Maria College is a Catholic Girls’ Secondary School enriched with the tradition of the Sisters of the Good Samaritan catering for over 800 students from Year 7–12. Due to a leave cover, we are seeking a Humanities, Business and Accounting Teacher who is available Full Time (1 FTE), teaching 1 X Year 9 Humanities, 1 X Year 11 Accounting, 1 X Year 12 Accounting, 2 X Year 12 Business Management, and a HR & Pastoral.

About you

• Experience teaching methods listed
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong understanding of the developmental needs of adolescents and emerging young adults
• Proficient in the use of ICT for communication and record keeping
• Interpersonal skills appropriate to establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with students, staff and parents, particularly the ability to work as a member of a team
• Organisation and administrative skills appropriate for planning and preparation
• VIT Certification
• Commitment to supporting the College’s relational management and restorative practices
• Maintain a positive environment which is respectful of all present and fosters student learning and motivation
• Able to participate in the College's professional development activities in and out of school hours
• Open to participate in the College's extra-curricular and co-curricular programs as required
• Experience with Mandatory Reporting and knowledge of Child Safety expectations and standards
