Based at one of our three modern, and well-equipped facilities in Ashhurst, Taupo or Christchurch this is a key hands-on role focused on the professional and consistent delivery of engineering and fabrication services.You will play an important part in the fabrication and assembly of structural and mechanical components, contributing directly to high-quality outcomes on critical infrastructure projects.
This role offers variety, challenge, and long-term career development in a stable and well-respected business.Key ResponsibilitiesAccurately mark out and cut materials to drawing specifications or instructions within allocated timeframesComplete all necessary weld preparation as per design requirementsPerform welding activities to AS / NZS standards, ensuring quality and complianceOperate fabrication machinery, power tools, and presses in accordance with training and competency assessmentsSafely operate cranes to lift and position loads, ensuring all lifting procedures and health & safety protocols are followed in accordance with training and competency assessmentsCarry out fabrication tasks as directed by the Workshop SupervisorAdhere to project specifications and contribute to a clean, safe, and efficient working environmentSupport team coordination and contribute to a strong workshop culture focused on safety, quality, and deliveryAbout YouYou'll be a trade-qualified welder / fabricator with hands-on experience in a workshop environment, a commitment to precision work, and a strong understanding of fabrication processes and safety standards.You'll bring : At least five years' experience in welding and fabricationProven ability to interpret and follow engineering drawings and instructions accuratelyCompetency in MIG, TIG, and / or ARC welding to industry standardsAbility to operate workshop machinery, tools, and cranes safely and effectivelyStrong awareness of and commitment to health and safetyExcellent interpersonal skills with a positive, team-focused attitudeHigh level of personal integrity, professionalism, and attention to detailFlexibility to work extra hours as neededOrganised, reliable, and committed to producing high-quality workWhy Join AEC and PropellWorks?
