The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.For more details about the role, you can view the Job Description here.ResponsibilitiesAs an Assistant Data Analyst, you'll play a key role in : Collecting, processing, and validating dataConducting basic analysisProviding administrative support to both the team and the wider education sectorEnsuring the integrity of foundational data systems that underpin decision-making across the New Zealand education systemAbout youTo be successful in this role, you will bring : A collaborative mindset and a curiosity to explore and question dataExperience in administrative or data management roles, with fast and accurate data entry skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office, especially ExcelStrong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging across diverse stakeholdersThe ability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o WaitangiExcellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectivelyThe ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and ConductAbout our group and teamThe Data Systems team sits within the Ministry of Education's Data and Insights group.
We maintain and improve core data systems that support the operations of New Zealand's education sector—from Early Learning through to Tertiary.
Our work enables accurate and efficient service delivery by education providers and supports the Ministry's data analysis capabilities.
