OverviewThe Health NZ Waitemata Health Scholarship Programme supports Maori and Pacific people living in the Waitemata region to complete a health science degree with an accredited New Zealand tertiary education provider.As well as providing support with your course fees of up to $5,000 each year of your study, we will also provide that all-important connection to our district so you can access clinical placement opportunities during your study.Eligibility CriteriaEnrolment in an undergraduate health science degree in New ZealandNew Zealand citizenship and / or permanent residencyEvidence of ties to the community in the Waitemata region (for example, active involvement in community groups)A demonstrated understanding of our health inequalities and why we need to grow our Maori and Pacific health workforcesA commitment to working for Health NZ Waitemata District upon graduation for a minimum of two yearsTo be considered for a scholarship we must receive your completed online application with CV and Cover Letter before the closing date.Short-listed applicants will be notified and invited to attend an interview.If successful, you will be expected to maintain a pass mark in your studies, update us annually on your progress, and upon graduation you will be required to enter into a two-year employment agreement with Health NZ Waitemata.
