An exciting opportunity has arisen at Te Puna Manawa for a youth friendly School Based General Practitioner to provide a school clinic to Rangatahi in the Waitemata region.
(4 hours per week)Te Puna Manawa Trust (HealthWEST) is a Hauora Maori Partner Provider and Non-Government Organisation (NGO) committed to providing effective and efficient health services to the community.
We are passionate about improving the health outcomes for our communities and providing innovative community and primary health services across the Waitemata and Te Toka Tumai region by delivering free, accessible, innovative community and primary healthy services focusing on Maori, Pacific, tamariki, rangatahi, whanau and other high-needs populations.The SBHS GP role involves providing health services for adolescents in a Te Whatu Ora funded school.
The role requires working in collaboration with School Nurses, wider school pastoral teams, Nurses working in Alternative Education, Teen Parent Units and Kura Kaupapa and the wider team at the Youth Health Hub.
Days of employment are negotiable for the right candidate in line with the service needs.The ideal candidate will be vocationally registered and passionate about delivering culturally informed interventions for Rangatahi and their whanau.
You will need to be an excellent communicator, able to establish a good rapport with young people from diverse backgrounds, as well as sound clinical competence, and familiarity with using the HEAADSSS assessment tool.
