They remain a family-owned business.As the Supply Chain Manager – Packing, you will oversee and manage the post-harvest handling of mushrooms through packaging, quality management and inventory control through to dispatch, ensuring efficient and timely distribution to customers at the highest quality and with minimal wastage.
This will be achieved by : Owning the end-to-end supply chain (from procurement, determining product required to managing receipt of harvested mushrooms and stock management through to fulfilment and dispatch of orders)Determining mushroom sku's and volumes needed and communicating harvest requirements to Harvesting Managers.Managing the efficient Packing operations ensuring resourcing, materials, equipment, and supplies are managed in a timely and cost-effective manner.Owning supplier management commercial terms and relationships relating to Packing operations.Providing strong leadership and direction to all packhouse staff (80+) to support them in carrying out their roles.YOUR SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTESRunning as a 7 day / week operation with a sizable number of staff, it is a dynamic, fast-moving environment which will offer plenty of unique challenges that come with the quick efficient turnaround required with perishable products matching orders with timely delivery.
To be successful in this role we are looking for you to have several of the following : Experience in supply chain, procurement, inventory management and order fulfilment.Familiarity with the process of manufacturing or growing perishable products which are immediately shipped to fulfil client orders minimizing time in transit and storage.Ability to concurrently function as a leader with both a medium term (6 months) and short term (1 day ahead) focus.Excellent problem-solving, analytical skills and planning abilities are essentialProven track record of managing and improving performance, ideally in an operational environment.Strong leadership and team management skills, ideally in an operational context and with a large team.Relevant experience in an agricultural or horticultural production settings working with short life produce is preferrable.For a confidential discussion please contact Richard Foster on
