The opportunity has arisen to work as a Libraries & Council Services Assistant in the Howick Library location.

This will require you to be flexible as you may need to work from other sites within the local board area, such as Howick Local Board.

Howick Library is a busy community library serving a diverse and vibrant community.

Our library whanau is focused on caring for each other, our community, and our environment.

We are looking for a flexible all-rounder to join and contribute as part of a high-achieving, cohesive, and dynamic team.

You will be supporting the team and contributing to the day-to-day running of the library.

As this is a customer service role, you will be helping customers from all walks of life.

Many of our libraries are open 7 days a week, so flexibility around working days, including weekends and late nights, is required.

We are looking to fill a part-time position working 16 hours per week.

Shifts below :

Sundays 10 : 00am to 16 : 00pm – 5.5 hours (includes a 30 minute meal break)

Mondays 12 : 15 midday to 18 : 15pm – 5.5 hours (includes a 30 minute meal break)

Thursdays 12 : 30midday to 18 : 00pm – 5 hours (includes a 30 minute meal break)

You are eager to learn new skills and thrive in a busy work environment.

We are looking for someone who :

Is reliable, adaptable and fosters great relationships with the team and our community.

Can demonstrate experience working with a diverse range of people.

Demonstrates excellent written and communication skills with a strong people focus.

Demonstrates an understanding of Te Ao Maori values and principles.

Has a clean driver's licence.

Proficiency in additional languages is highly valued, with particular interest in candidates fluent in Korean, Mandarin, or Japanese.
