PANDA SPICY EXPRESS Limited is one of the Chinese Restaurants based in Auckland, New Zealand. Due to business needs, they are now looking for 3 cooks to join our busy restaurant team.
All the positions are permanent with a guaranteed minimum of 30 working hours per week.
The main job responsibilities include but not limit to :
Setting up workstations with all the needed ingredients and cooking equipment
Checking ingredients to ensure the quality and freshness
Preparing and cooking Chinese food in various utensils and grills
Seasoning, portioning, adding sauces to the food during / after cooking
Preparing food to meet client’s taste and dietary needs
Arrange food on plates or wrap it to be taken away
Storing and reserving food
Assisting in planning menus, estimating food and labour costs
Cleaning and restocking workstations and ensuring that all equipment is sanitized and prepared for the next shift.
Checking the cleanliness of equipment and the operation of machines before each run, to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Assisting with training and coordinating with junior cooks or kitchen hands, as requested by the Executive Chinese Chef
To be successful, you will need to
NZQA Level 4 or above qualification
At least 2 years of work experience in cooking Asian and Chinese cuisine could substitute the qualification requirement
Have the skills and knowledge to operate the Asian wok and knife
Flexibility to work on weekend and night shifts, overtime may be required
Has a positive and willing attitude to learn
