About the Role
Our Oncology Research Team has an exciting opportunity fora Research Nurse to support the work of the team in clinical trials andresearch.
The Research Nurse would be responsible for :
Treatment delivery andassociated trial based activities for clinical research trials
Carrying out any necessarysupportive care throughout the treatment delivery
Observation period and willensure the collection of vital signs, study bloods, and other relevanttests as required by individual protocols
About the Service
Canterbury Oncology Research Unit (CORU) is an integral part of theOncology service employing 8 staff members who coordinate research in oncology.CORU works closely with other clinical teams to make a difference in people'slives by working on cutting edge trials.
Our team has an internationalreputation with most of our trials being part of worldwide research.
The teamis based at Manawa building and has facilities in the Oncology department inChristchurch hospital.
About you
This position would suit aperson who enjoys working in a fast paced environment, has excellentadministration and communication skills and a desire to extend their knowledgeand experience in this area.
A strong eye for detail and high level of accuracywith data collection and entry will be critical to your success.
Researchexperience or advanced Oncology knowledge
A relevant graduate and post-graduate qualification
Able to administer intravenous andoral cytotoxic drugs
Excellent communicationskills and time management
Ability to work in asmall busy multi-disciplinary team

Honest and Courageous
Registeredwith the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current Annual PractisingCertificate (APC)
