It weaves thefunctions of the 20 former District Health Boards into its regional divisionsand district offices, ensuring continuity of services in the health system.As an organisation we deliver health services tothe almost 600,000 people that live in the Canterbury region.

CRCHS currently employs 10 radiation oncologists, 10 medicaloncologists, six haematologists and four palliative care physicians.
We are acollaborative unit and work closely with a highly skilled team of radiationtherapists, nurses and specialists from other medical disciplines.CRCHS has accreditation for radiation oncologytraining with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists.
Inaddition to 8 accreditedradiation oncology registrar training posts, we have trainees in medicaloncology, haematology and palliative care.The department has four linear accelerators, allwith six-degree of freedom couches, a wide-bore CT-simulator, Monaco treatment planning system, Mosaiq information management system, Flexitron, HRD Brachytherapy and ABCdeep inspiratory breath hold units.
We led the introduction of stereotacticlung radiation therapy to New Zealand departments, and expanded thestereotactic programme to include CNS metastases and spinal metastases.
OurHDR brachytherapy programme treats gynaecological and prostate malignancies.
We are active participants in Australasian andinternational cooperative group clinical trials and have an experiencedclinical research support team.Christchurch is a great place to live and bring upa family.

In addition to your clinical,research, academic and administration duties, you will be participating in theafter-hours on-call roster as well as covering clinical services in out-reachclinics.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in acollaborative team are essential.
Additional desirable skills include experienceor interest in performing brachytherapy procedures, stereotactic bodytreatments, clinical research and registrar teaching.Registrars who are likely to obtain their RANZCRfellowship by February 2026 are welcome to apply.
