We collect and analyse intelligence and security to protect New Zealand from threats such as foreign interference, espionage and terrorism.The roleWe have an exciting opportunity for Target Analysts to join the Intelligence Directorate in Wellington or Auckland to support our Intelligence missions with a focus on data analysis.As a data-focussed Target Analyst, you will have the opportunity to extract intelligence insights from unique datasets, help inform the development of new tools and analytical capabilities and overcome technical challenges.
You will be making a real contribution to the security of New Zealand while pushing the boundaries of technology and innovation.You could have the opportunity to develop expertise, in support of our capability or mission requirements, in any of the following areas : Performing, and then automating, complex analysis across a wide range of datasetsGleaning insights from our disparate data sets : identifying trends, changes, and summarising current informationWorking with stakeholders across our mission teams to provide insight into intelligence problemsWhat we are looking forThe ideal applicant will : Have a relevant degree and / or technical or analysis experience, such as data science, computer science, or experience in a role with an analytical focus.Be able to learn new technical and analytical skills as required.Enjoy working in a collaborative and creative work environment.Experience working with digital forensics products would be beneficial.What do we offer?

Appointment into a Level 2 position will depend on previous skills and experience, with the appointing range between $87,048 - $92,851.
