    Are you a skilled Cardiac Sonographer looking to take your career to new heights in a breath-taking and inspiring location? Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Te Matau a Māui Hawke’s Bay invites experienced and motivated sonographers to join our dynamic Cardiology team.     As a Cardiac Sonographer within our Cardiology Service, you'll play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care. Your responsibilities will include performing advanced diagnostic procedures such as adult transthoracic echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, and assisting with transoesophageal echocardiograms. Plus, you will have the chance to enhance your experience with hands-on exposure to rural and community outreach clinics throughout Hawke’s Bay, making for a truly diverse and enriching professional journey.

    • Great Facilities : The Hawke’s Bay Cardiology Service has a new Heart Hub outpatient’s facility with four dedicated sonography rooms, dedicated reporting room, modern GE scanners and GE ViewPoint reporting system.

      About you

    • MRTB Registration : You must be eligible for registration with the New Zealand Medical Radiation Technologists Board (MRTB). We will support your transition from BSE / ASE to MRTB.
    • Cardiac Ultrasound Qualification : You will have an acceptable qualification for MRTB registration (e.g., QUT or DMU).
    • Post-qualification Experience : A minimum of one year’s experience in cardiac ultrasound, with a passion for adult and paediatric echocardiograms.
    • Clinical Expertise : Strong understanding of echocardiography techniques, with a keen interest in applying this knowledge in a dynamic and diverse setting.
    • Experience with cardiac physiology in a clinical setting.
    • An interest in leadership, teaching, or research.
    • Advanced IT skills to support diagnostic equipment and reporting.
    • Experience with paediatric TTE.
