Te Kaunihera o Tamaki Makaurau | Auckland Council stands for inclusion, equity, and pride in Tamaki Makaurau. The Rainbow Communities Advisory Panel gives voice to Auckland's LGBTQIA+ and takatapui communities, advising Council on how to make the city safer, fairer, and more welcoming for everyone.
Members bring lived experience and insight to guide policies, services, and community engagement. If you're passionate about creating an inclusive Auckland, this is your chance to help lead positive change.
Auckland Council is seeking Aucklanders from a range of diverse backgrounds who are interested in serving as a member of the Demographic Advisory Panels, a space where your insights, experiences, and ideas can help shape the future of Tamaki Makaurau.

Advisory Panels
Advisory Panels are one way Auckland Council engages meaningfully with diverse communities. We know that involving Aucklanders with different experiences, backgrounds and perspectives is vital to the region's success.
These panels offer a space where your insights, experiences, and ideas can help shape the future of Tamaki Makaurau.
The demographic panels meet approximately every six-eight weeks, with each meeting lasting three hours. You'll also be invited to attend additional cross-panel workshops and activities. On average, panel members spend around

You're passionate about contributing to the future of Tamaki Makaurau and supporting positive outcomes for our communities.
In this role, you'll bring lived experience of your communities with an understanding of diverse perspective. You will be collaborating with others and sharing your experiences and perspectives to help advise Council.
Ideally, you will :
You'll need to commit to a three-year term and be available for scheduled panel meetings and workshops (held on weekdays and / or evenings).

Panel members are paid meeting fees and reimbursed for travel expenses as per the Auckland Council Fees Framework and Expenses Policy for Appointed Members.
