Join us as an Equity Lead and play a pivotal role in advancing health equity across a national network of primary care practices.
You'll be employed by GXHMSL but dedicated to supporting Community Care Limited (CCL), our new not-for-profit Primary Health Organisation (PHO).
This is an exciting opportunity to drive systemic change, reduce health disparities and improve outcomes for Maori, Pacific peoples and underserved communities in New Zealand.

We are a national primary care network with medical practices across New Zealand, supported by our Auckland-based office that delivers comprehensive management services.
We're establishing CCL as a national not-for-profit Primary Healthcare Organisation (PHO), bringing together 50+ practices to enhance equitable access to primary health care.
Main purpose of the role
As Equity Lead, you'll lead initiatives to identify, address and reduce health disparities, ensuring equitable access to primary care services nationwide.
You'll promote cultural safety, inclusivity and systemic change, collaborating with the Head of CCL, GXHMSL teams and practice staff to integrate equity into operations.
Key responsibilities
Equity leadership and strategy :
Develop health equity strategies and action plans, provide oversight for integration into operations, support quality improvements and report progress to leadership.
Disparity identification and analysis :
Analyse patient data, monitor equity goals and recommend policy adjustments using audits, surveys and reporting tools.
Capacity building and training :
Deliver training on equity, cultural competence and inclusive practices, including workshops and resources for staff.
Collaboration and advocacy :
Build partnerships with internal teams, external stakeholders (e.g., iwi, community organisations, Health NZ) and advocate for equitable care.
Compliance and innovation :
Ensure initiatives meet standards and explore innovative approaches to reduce inequities.
Communication / relationships :
Advise on equity matters, communicate progress and maintain culturally sensitive relationships.
Person specification
Experience :
3-5 years in health, community health or similar in NZ's health sector, preferably primary care; knowledge of equity frameworks, social determinants and data analysis; experience in project management and training.
Other : Able to travel
