Hiringa Oranga O Awarua O Awarua Whanau Services is seeking a passionate and experienced Team Leader Whanau Services + Social Services Practitioner to guide our Whanau Services team.
This role blends strategic oversight with hands-on practice, ensuring whanau-centred, culturally responsive care is delivered through Whanau Ora Navigation and Social Work.
Responsibilities
Provide supervision, mentoring, and professional development support to navigators and social workers.
Lead planning, reporting, and evaluation processes to ensure contract compliance and service quality.
Support the development of whanau care plans that reflect aspirations, strengths, and cultural identity.
Promote integrated, holistic services across health, housing, education, employment, and wellbeing.
Carry a negotiated caseload and contribute to program delivery.
Foster a positive, culturally safe team environment grounded in kaupapa Maori values.
Qualifications
Holds a bachelor's degree in Social Work, Humanities, Education, or Psychology (or is working towards one).
Has at least 2 years' experience in the human services sector, including direct case management.
Has experience in supervision and knowledge of intimate whanau violence.
Demonstrates strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Is committed to culturally safe practice and continuous improvement.
