Hiringa Oranga O Awarua Limited - Awarua Whanau Services is seeking a capable and strategic Health Services Manager to join our senior leadership team.
The Health Services Manager plays a key leadership role in delivering high-quality, culturally responsive health services aligned with community needs and sector policy.
They oversee strategic planning, operational management, clinical governance, and stakeholder engagement to drive innovation and improve health outcomes.
This role also ensures compliance, manages budgets, and leads a multidisciplinary team to meet organisational and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
Lead strategic planning and operational oversight of all health service areas.
Champion equity, innovation, and collaboration in service delivery.
Provide inspiring leadership to a multidisciplinary team, ensuring services meet clinical, regulatory, and organisational standards.
Oversee health contract reporting, policy development, and compliance.
Build strong partnerships across the health sector, tertiary institutions, and community organisations.
Identify new funding opportunities and support contract negotiations.
Embed Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles into policy and practice.
Qualifications
Holds a tertiary qualification in Health Management, Public Health, or Nursing.
Has proven experience in health service management within Aotearoa.
Demonstrates strong understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and kaupapa Maori health models.
Is experienced in contract management, stakeholder engagement, and team leadership.
Possesses excellent organisational, communication, and analytical skills.
Is collaborative, culturally competent, and community oriented.
Can build and maintain respectful relationships with individuals, whanau, key partners, and the community.
