Manager - National Project Management Office

About the role

NZBS is seeking an experienced leader to establish and drive our National Project Management Office (PMO) department.

As a Manager, you'll play a critical role in shaping project governance, portfolio management, and engagement as well as continuous improvement across the organisation.

You'll lead a high-performing team, collaborate with senior leaders and executives, and ensure national visibility and alignment of project initiatives with NZBS's strategic goals.

This role offers the opportunity to build and mature a hybrid PMO model, develop frameworks for prioritisation and uplift project and process improvement capability.

You'll champion a culture of excellence, transparency, and collaboration—connecting stakeholders, facilitating change, and enabling delivery of complex, high-impact initiatives.

The role :

Lead a passionate PMO team consisting of five professionals with different areas of expertise

Govern project delivery by managing the project portfolio roadmap, developing a project prioritisation framework and completing annual project portfolio investment planning

Build relationships across the organisation and collaborate with senior leadership, and other stakeholders to ensure engagement, and that PMO approach and deliverables are aligned with the clinical, technical, quality, regulatory and business requirements

Drive a culture of continuous improvement, by introducing tools, partnering with Managers and Quality & Regulatory Affairs team and uplifting project management capability.

Your Profile :

Project management certification such as Prince2, Agile or PMP

Extensive experience (minimum of 7 years) in delivery of complex projects and process improvement initiatives in a quality-controlled environment

Solid experience in leading professional teams

Confident and empathetic communicator with excellent influencing and presentation skills

Experience implementing process improvement and portfolio management tools, frameworks and principles at an organisational level
