You will have advanced specialist knowledge of the healthneeds, preferences and circumstances to optimise the individual's health andwell-being at various phases across the continuum of care for acute mentalhealth inpatients.
A demonstrated commitment to guiding least restrictivepractice and supporting best practice initiatives.This role will also provideclinical expertise and leadership to ensure safe and effective services toindividual tangata whaiora, with high needs and complexity, who currentlyreside in the community to support these consumers to remain in the communityand support least restrictive treatment options.The role has a keyfocus on the teaching of health professionals, patients and whanau through facilitation of bothformal and informal learning opportunities.

We value integrity, innovation, respect and teamwork.You will have at least five yearsworking in Mental Health tertiary and secondary services, including participatingin service and care planning within multidisciplinary teams of professionalsfocused on effective delivery of mental health and addiction care.Additional key requirements for the position includePost-Graduate Diploma in Nursing (minimum) working towards Masters inNursing qualification.Extensive clinical expertise within mentalhealth care and education to people with acute or enduring severe mentalillness.Evidence of attainment of Expert Portfolio onthe PDRP (or working towards).
Current registration and annual practising certificate.Leadership,teamwork and collaboration skills integral to continuity of service delivery.Good time management skills and ability tomanage work in a planned and coordinated manner.As a key clinicalleadership position within the inpatient mental health service at Te Whatu Ora(Nelson Marlborough Health) the CNS role will provide the next step in advancednursing practice.
