Napier Girls’ High School is seeking a dynamic and inspiring Head of Learning Area for Mathematics, to lead our team of experienced and dedicated kura māhita. Te Kura Kōhine o Ahuriri - Napier Girls’ High School sits upon Mataruahou, overlooking Ahuriri, Napier, and provides education for students in Years 9-13. Our kura is one of the oldest in Aotearoa for kōhine, young women. Our values of Manaakitanga, Kairangi Whaiaro and Whanaungatanga underpin our kaupapa of empowering ākonga to achieve success and fulfilment for themselves, whānau and the wider community.
Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura, Middle leadership Math and Statistics

Role responsibilities
This is a full-time, permanent position beginning in January of 2026. As a Head of Learning Area, this role includes leading the Mathematics Learning Area and working with kura staff to support student achievement and engagement.

An additional RRR payment is also available, dependent on candidate experience and circumstance, alongside the possibility of accommodation in a school owned property.
