About the Role
As Clinical Team Leader you will provide operational and clinical leadership to the Liaison Psychiatry, Neurostimulation (ECT and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) and Regional Huntingtons Disease teams with the key objective of ensuring service outcomes are met and an effective, high quality clinical service is delivered.
The Clinical Team Leader is a key member of the service group leadership team which includes the Service Clinical Director, Operations Manager, Lead Clinician, other Clinical Team Leaders, Charge Nurse and Business Administration Manager.
You will report to the Operations Manager.
As the role is part time, we welcome applications from anyone may also interested in a rostered Nurse Specialist role within the team as there is an opportunity to create a full-time position for the right candidate.
About the Team / Service / Location
Liaison Psychiatry is based at Auckland City Hospital and provides specialist advice and consultation to services and teams within ADHB for people with concurrent physical and mental health needs.
The service also provides assessment, advice, and consultation to the Emergency Department at Auckland City Hospital.
The multi-disciplinary team consists of Consultant Psychiatrists, Nurse Specialists, Nurse Practitioner, Registrar, Clinical Psychologist, and a Team Administrator.
The Neurostimulation Service comprises :
The ECT service delivering electroconvulsive therapy to inpatients and community patients meeting referral criteria.
The service is staffed by a senior nurse (ECT coordinator) and a consultant psychiatrist (Lead Clinician).
Back up staffing is provided by other ADHB clinicians.
It is provided in the operating theatre recovery suite at Auckland City Hospital.
The TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) service is the first publicly provided TMS service in NZ.
It is staffed with a full time Nurse Specialist, a Consultant Psychiatrist with support from a Team Administrator.
It is provided in a specifically designed suite at Te Whetu Tawera on the Auckland City Hospital site.
The Regional Huntingtons Disease Service (RHDS) provides support for those generally in the symptomatic phase of Huntington's Disease and those who are experiencing secondary mental health issues and need follow up.
The team supports local Community Mental Health Services, Liaison Psychiatrists and Neurologists to manage the symptoms of the person affected and provide the necessary support to those affected and their families as close to their home as possible.
