Principal or Technical Principal – Geotechnical Engineer (Auckland or Christchurch)This position offers great exposure to a variety of exciting large infrastructure projects.
You can be based in either Auckland or Christchurch, to provide advice in the field of Ground Engineering.You will provide technical leadership and specialist advice, analysis, design and reporting, working alongside and supporting the development of our teams.
As a Principal or Technical Principal, your role will be nationwide, supporting projects up and down Aotearoa New Zealand.In This Role, You WillProvide consultancy services in the field of Geotechnical Engineering particularly site investigations, analysis, reporting, design, and construction observation of buildings, bridges, tunnelling, water and infrastructure projects.Have an advanced knowledge in geotechnical engineering with a proven ability in infrastructure design for NZTA , Local Authorities and / or KiwiRail.Contribute to the success of our business in meeting its business and strategic objectives by providing appropriate technical advice and ensuring effective management of clients, staff and projects.Set the standard for our technical team, demonstrating a solution focussed mindset and promoting best practice and technical excellence.Undertake and / or arrange appropriate technical reviews and verification of work, role modelling excellence and guiding emerging professionals.Connect with our existing and potential clients to deliver the best outcome and ensure client satisfactionHave the opportunity to connect with a global network of expertsAbout you : A minimum of a tertiary qualification in Civil / Geotechnical EngineeringChartered with Engineering New Zealand (Formerly IPENZ)Minimum of 12 years of professional experience in the Geotechnical Engineering discipline, with at least three years working in an Aotearoa New Zealand consulting practiceTrack record operating in a Geotechnical Design Lead role on multidiscipline infrastructure projects.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with expertise in preparation of reports and presentationExperience of local and national design guidance along with a knowledge of prevailing geotechnical conditions in Aotearoa New ZealandProven experience of developing effective relationships with clients and developing client pipelines and prospects across the industry / sectorConsistent track record of completing complex geotechnical analysis and designs including an understanding of soil structure interactionExperience in earthquake geotechnical engineeringImagine a better future for you and a better future for us all.WSP NZ has proudly earned its place among the top five employers to work for in Aotearoa New Zealand, as recognised in Randstad's latest employer survey.
