We're on the lookout for a seasoned Senior Project Manager to join our Transformation Office and help us shape the future of Kiwibank.

As Senior Project Manager you'll act as a servant leader and coach, removing impediments, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned and engaged, and guiding cross-functional teams toward meaningful outcomes.

You'll lead the delivery of large-scale, high-impact projects that support our transformation and growth with a flexible, adaptive approach that maximises value delivery in a dynamic environment.

In this role, you will :

Champion Servant Leadership : Coach teams on best practices, remove roadblocks, and create a supportive environment where people can thrive

Drive adaptive planning : Lead rolling-wave planning, prioritise and sequence activities, and pivot quickly as needs evolve, always ensuring alignment with overall business objectives

Collaborate with stakeholders : Partner with Senior Business Transformation Leads, Change Leads, and Product Management to keep initiatives on track, maintain strategic focus, and build trust at all levels

Manage Ambiguity : Ability to be comfortable with significant amounts of ambiguity as you work through the refinement of defining deliverables to inform our planning will be a key skill

Manage risks, Issues, Assumptions & dependencies : Identify and mitigate obstacles early on, ensuring clear communication, seamless coordination, and continuous value delivery across teams

Foster continuous improvement : Encourage feedback loops, innovation, and reflection to help teams learn, adapt, and excel in a rapidly changing landscape

Leverage your expertise : Bring 10+ years of experience delivering complex projects in large organisations—whether agile, waterfall, or hybrid—and showcase strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.

We're looking for someone who brings a mix of expertise, leadership, and drive.

You'll be known for getting things done, bringing people on the journey, and handling complexity with confidence.

You'll also have :

A proven track record leading projects with $1m+ budgets, ideally within a portfolio or programme environment

Demonstrable expertise in applying delivery frameworks, governance, and strategic insight

The ability to navigate ambiguity, plan effectively, and adapt quickly

Proficiency in vendor management and cost optimisation

Confidence in influencing senior leaders and aligning strategic priorities

A collaborative approach with strong communication and emotional intelligence

Relevant project management certifications (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, SAFe)
