Ecological Restoration Team Leader – Wildland Consultants Ltd – Christchurch

Overview

Wildlands is seeking full-time permanent Ecological Restoration Team Leaders who will be based out of our Christchurch office. The role is to lead small teams in the field undertaking ecological restoration works, comprising : pest plant control, pest animal control and planting. You will be mentoring and training staff, leading by example, undertake basic reporting and record keeping, ensuring the health and safety of your team, and encouraging and maintaining a positive team culture. There will be opportunities for liaising with client representatives and other stakeholders including the general public and community groups.

Responsibilities

• Lead small teams in the field undertaking ecological restoration works (pest plant control, pest animal control and planting).
• Mentor and train staff, lead by example, and support staff development.
• Undertake basic reporting and record keeping; ensure health and safety of the team.
• Encourage and maintain a positive team culture and effective team dynamics.
• Liaise with client representatives and other stakeholders including the general public and community groups.
