We're on the lookout for an enthusiastic, self‑motivated Casual Sonographer to join our friendly and close‑knit team. You'll be working alongside experienced sonographers who are passionate about what they do and always up for supporting new team members.

About the Team / Service / Location

Our department is a busy yet supportive environment, featuring three ultrasound rooms equipped with Philips EPIQ machines. We offer a range of services, including acute ED / inpatient care, outpatient services, and community‑based examinations as well as some interventional procedures.

Whanganui is a pretty, easy‑to‑live town with easy access to larger centres while maintaining a strong sense of community. Situated along the Whanganui River and near both the sea and mountains, it offers fantastic outdoor lifestyle opportunities. The area also boasts a thriving arts community, and housing remains affordable compared to many larger cities.

About you

We're on the lookout for a skilled and caring Sonographer to join our dedicated team in delivering high‑quality diagnostic imaging and exceptional patient care. If you're seeking a role where your clinical expertise, attention to detail, and compassionate approach are truly valued — this could be the perfect fit.

Our ideal candidate will have :

• A national diploma or degree in Medical Diagnostic Ultrasound Imaging (or a recognised New Zealand equivalent)
• A current Annual Practising Certificate issued by the New Zealand Medical Radiation Technologists Board
• A willingness to support and guide student Sonographers as part of their learning journey
• A proactive attitude and openness to taking on additional responsibilities such as hazard management, health and safety, and IANZ processes
• An interest in ongoing professional development, including cross‑modality training as opportunities arise
