This role will allow you to have an impact on tax administration and compliance and to develop networks across Inland Revenue and the New Zealand tax community.

Legal Services is one of the largest government in-house legal teams. The team provides advice, support, dispute resolution, civil litigation, prosecution and tax technical services for a broad range of customers across Inland Revenue.
As a Solicitor in the Advice\Technical Standards workstream you would primarily work on tax technical or social policy matters. This may include drafting opinions, public statements, dispute documents or binding rulings and representing the Commissioner in disputes.

Successful applicants need to be based in a Legal Services site - Takapuna, Manukau, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch or Dunedin.

The salary range for the role is $128,990 - $172,780 based on a standard 37-hour 55-minute work week. The salary offered to successful candidates will be based on skills and experience assessed from the application and interview process.
Inland Revenue supports flexible working options that work for the individual, team and organisation. Our flexitime provisions allow additional flexibility around how you work your standard hours of work, including earning time credits where additional hours are worked.
