Are you passionate about shaping the future of psychology education through work-integrated learning, engaged scholarship, curriculum innovation, and teaching excellence?

We are seeking a Senior Lecturer in Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) and Engaged Scholarship to join the School of Psychology, Speech and Hearing.

This role provides an exciting opportunity to lead the development and integration of WIL and engaged scholarship in Psychology, strengthening our partnerships with industry and community, and shaping the next generation of psychology graduates through high-quality, applied, and research-informed education.

The role will involve establishing and maintaining strong partnerships with industry, community partners, employers, and other stakeholders across the different subdisciplines of UC Psychology.

Working closely with faculty members, you will align work-integrated learning and engaged scholarship opportunities with academic curricula and research focus areas in the School and promote these programmes both within UC and to external partners.

Communication and relationship-building will be aligned with UC's Tangata Tu, Tangata Ora Strategic Vision

You will also work closely with the UC Ako a-Mahi Work-Integrated Learning team and UC Careers to develop and sustain opportunities for students.

As Senior Lecturer in WIL and Engaged Scholarship, you will contribute to research in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning in Psychology and other areas aligned with your expertise and the School's research strengths.

You will play a key role in enhancing teaching and learning quality and curriculum innovation across the School through academic development and the embedding of inclusive, evidence informed pedagogy.

In addition, you will supervise postgraduate students and help advance UC's national and international profile as a leader in engaged psychology education.

The role also includes providing teaching and administrative support to other areas of the School, and the balance of research, teaching, and service responsibilities will be negotiated with the Head of School.

Mou | Who You Are

The successful candidate will have expertise in work-integrated learning in Psychology, with experience in curriculum innovation, engaged scholarship, and the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning in Psychology.

A PhD or professional doctorate degree in Psychology or an aligned discipline is essential.

Research experience in work-integrated-learning or aligned areas is desirable.

To Be Considered You Will Have

Expert knowledge in work-integrated learning for Psychology.

Evidence of leading authentic, applied learning experiences that prepare students for professional and workplace contexts.

Proven ability to establish partnerships with industry, community, and professional stakeholders that enhance teaching, research, and graduate employability.

Experience creating courses that integrate engaged scholarship, psychological literacy, and authentic learning opportunities.

Experience in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning in Psychology.

Demonstrated contribution to enhancing teaching and learning quality across programmes and within academic teams through academic development and the embedding of inclusive, evidence-informed pedagogy.

Demonstrated understanding of, and experience in, delivering effective teaching methods that enable a wide range of learners to succeed.

Evidence of the development of a research portfolio.

Evidence of reflective learning and continuous professional development.

Active commitment to upholding the values, tikanga (protocols and processes), kawa (rules) of cultural practice and traditions as guided by mana whenua, Ngai Tuahuriri, and valuing te reo Maori.

Competency in te reo Maori me ona tikanga is an advantage.

This role sits within the Academic Staff, Associated Staff and Support Staff Collective Agreement and the following salary scale applies : Senior Lecturer $119,586 - $149,806 p.a.
