Our Power Systems group provides power system analysis and engineering, risk and assurance management to enable Transpower in its role as System Operator.In this role, you will be part of the Power Systems Engineering team, which collaborates with the Power Systems Development and Engineering Assurance teams to understand asset performance, study power system risks and technologies, and support operating the electricity market and power system.ResponsibilitiesJoin the System Operator in Wellington, Auckland, Hamilton or ChristchurchPerform power studies and analysis to support generator connectionsValidate dynamic models of generation connecting to the power systemReview power system connection studies provided by Asset Owners and GeneratorsAssess risks and impacts to the System Operator and ensure compliance with the electricity industry participation codeProduce industry information and forecasts related to system security and operationEngage with the Electricity Authority and industry participants to enable a secure and resilient power systemWhat will you bring?
A minimum of a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, or related field with Power Systems papers7 or more years leading power system studiesProven experience with preparing / validating power flow cases and dynamic models in PowerFactory for power system analysis and simulations; share reports you have been involved withWorking knowledge of power system analysis tools to build dynamic power system models and perform load flow and time-domain simulations; ideally in DIgSILENT PowerFactory (or Siemens PSSE).
