Starting salary : $60,882 per annum pro rata for part-time hours.
Must be available to start immediately on 24 November
Induction and ongoing training will be provided.
The Biosecurity Passenger Facilitator is an important part of the Biosecurity New Zealand team.
They work alongside our biosecurity staff to educate passengers on New Zealand's robust Biosecurity System.
This is a front-line role where you engage directly with international travellers and kiwis returning home to ensure a seamless and pleasant experience through the biosecurity-controlled area.
You will also support biosecurity staff with a range of tasks, such as treatment administration and processing, replenishment of bins and stock, data entry, assisting staff with inspection and cleaning of personal effects.

We manage border and compliance activities and prepare for and respond to biosecurity incursions.
We support all New Zealanders and visitors to protect the country's environments.What you will be doingYou will need to be flexible and adaptable to deliver results in the following areas : Proactively engage with passengers (including families with children) to create a positive, friendly, reassuring, and respectful experience on arrival.Raise awareness of biosecurity risks and provide guidance to passengers about requirements.Provide passengers with information that helps explain biosecurity processes and enhances the passenger experience.Assist onsite biosecurity staff with daily operations requirements, administration or reporting tasks, especially during peak periods or disruptions, ensuring passengers are prioritised and have access to essential information.Support with tasks such as card counting and data entry, cleaning work areas and personal effects, clearing amnesty bins, assisting the inspection bench and other tasks as directed.Ensure passengers and biosecurity outcomes are at the heart of everything we do, striving to deliver the best possible outcomes.About YouYou will meet the following essential education, skills, and experience requirements : Be eligible to undertake permanent work in New Zealand.Have great customer service and people skills.Be a reliable, team player who is punctual and flexible.Confident and proactive communicator with a wide range of people.Competent in using a computer and performing administrative tasks.Must be fluent in English; ability to speak a second language is advantageous.This is a busy role requiring you to be on the go for the full period of the shift (e.g., 4 hours standing or moving around).
Must be able to work shift times that could start at any time of day, 7 days a week (airport operates 24 / 7 including public holidays).
Rosters are provided at least two weeks in advance.Physical and Other RequirementsThis role involves standing and moving for extended periods in dynamic and operational environments.
Staff should maintain a level of physical fitness to perform duties safely and comfortably.
You must be able to stand for long durations, respond quickly when needed, and perform tasks without undue fatigue.Must be able to work a roster across a range of shift times at a 24 / 7 airport and be available for an immediate start on Monday 24 November
