Job description

New World Wanaka is looking for motivated and capable Grocery Managers to lead the day‑to‑day operations of our busy Grocery Department. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you'll help drive team performance, maintain high merchandising standards, and ensure our customers enjoy a top‑quality shopping experience every time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the daily operations of a Grocery Department
  • Working closely alongside the team to ensure smooth and efficient workflows
  • Managing stock ordering, promotional planning, and inventory control
  • Ensuring high standards in merchandising, presentation, and product availability
  • Establishing and implementing rostering and staff scheduling
  • Building strong relationships with suppliers and team members

You will have :

  • An NZQF level 5 qualification or 3 years relevant work experience
  • Sound SAP and Excel capabilities to achieve supermarket financial KPI’s
  • Proven decision‑making abilities with exceptional organisational, presentation and planning skills
  • Attention to detail, excellent communication skills and a high level of integrity and honesty to ensure success in this role
  • These are permanent full‑time roles. Remuneration will be between $28–$38 per hour with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week. Reporting to the Store Manager. Availability for weekend work is required.
