OverviewDrainage Operator / Labourer – Civil Site Work in Lyttelton We're looking for a skilled Drainage Operator / Labourer to join an experienced civil crew working on essential infrastructure upgrades in Lyttelton.

This is a hands-on role that requires confidence operating machinery, solid drainage knowledge, and a strong commitment to health and safety.

If you're reliable, physically fit, and keen to be part of a well-run crew — this role could be for you.DetailsLocation : Lyttelton, ChristchurchStart : Immediate start availablePay rate : $32–$36 per hour (depending on experience and licences)What you'll be doingOperating a range of machinery (e.g. excavators, rollers, loaders) safely and efficientlyPerforming manual drainage tasks such as trenching, laying pipe, backfilling, and compactionAssisting with general site preparation, clean-up, and reinstatementMaintaining environmental protections and adhering to safety controlsReading basic site plans and following instructions from site supervisorsWorking around live services and active plant in a high-risk environmentHours7 : 00am–5 : 00pm, Monday to FridayYou'll need to bringPrevious drainage experience (non-negotiable)WTR endorsements and current Class 1, 2 & 4 licencesA good understanding of site safety and risk managementPhysical fitness and the ability to work in a labour-intensive roleStrong work ethic, punctuality, and the ability to work in a teamReliability and readiness to work in all weather conditionsWhat you'll get in returnWeekly pay : $32–$36 per hourImmediate start on a stable, well-organised sitePotential for ongoing work based on performanceWork with an experienced crew on a major infrastructure projectWhy work with Tradestaff?
