Kimi Ora School is a specialist school for students aged 5-21 years. As part of our school we run the specialist teacher Outreach Service.
This service currently has 19 teachers who visit and support students who have ORs funding in mainstream schools within the Wellington region.
Kimi Ora School has a number of positions for outreach teachers to join their team on a fixed term basis in 2026.
These positions will be in the range of 0.4 to 0.8 FTTE depending on ORS funding and can be negotiated.

Experience in working with special needs and nonverbal children is desirable however even more importantly, we are looking for an enthusiastic innovative teacher with a “can do“ attitude. Professional development will be provided.
There is travel involved and a mileage allowance is paid. The terms and conditions, including base salary, for this position is set by the NZEI Primary Teachers Collective Agreement. The base salary for trained and registered teachers will range from $61329 to $ depending on the applicant's qualifications and experience. Individuals actual base salary will be established by a salary assessment once a role is confirmed.
