The Partner Organisation
Loto Taumafai Society for People with Disabilities works to provide inclusive, equitable education and support services for people with disabilities in Samoa. Their school supports children from Y1 to Y12 and also offers vocational training in carpentry, carving, and screen printing.
The Assignment
As a special education teacher adviser, you’ll collaborate with teachers to strengthen their skills in supporting students with disabilities. Your role will focus on training, mentoring, and developing resources to create interactive, student-centred learning environments. You’ll also assist with lesson planning, goal setting, and strategies for managing challenging behaviours.
Essential skills and experience
Important : Volunteers must be NZ citizens or permanent residents. VSA covers flights, visas, insurance, accommodation, living allowance, and utilities for the 12-month assignment.
