We are seeking an experienced Policy professional to join our Investment and Strategy Group in a permanent, full-time position in Wellington.

This is your chance to directly shape the strategy and funding direction for a crucial sector of Aotearoa's economy and workforce.

This high-impact role is complex and varied, giving you exposure across both :

Investment & Funding : Drive advice on funding levers and fee regulation for national training and development systems.

You will lead strategic Budget advice and funding changes supporting major workforce and economic reforms.

International Strategy & Welfare : Develop strategic policy for international growth initiatives and lead work on the welfare and support systems for domestic and international participants.

You'll need to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, working collaboratively across other core government agencies and Crown partners to provide integrated advice to Ministers.

Mou | About you

You are a pragmatic, experienced policy professional with a passion for 'big picture' economic and social analysis and an ability to deliver high-quality work in complex, sensitive environments.

Policy Analyst : You have excellent knowledge of policy development and government processes, sound communication skills, and a commitment to evidence-based advice.

You have a willingness to develop your understanding of Te Ao Maori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Senior Policy Analyst : You possess all the above, plus proven experience in leading complex policy projects autonomously, demonstrating resilience and self-motivation, and a desire to mentor junior staff.
