- Manage and update real time content in digital channels including the AT Mobile app, AT and NZTA Journey Planner websites, social media pages, Google Maps, digital motorway signs.

- ' Our Network Communications - Real Time team is responsible for the development and implementation of communication plans and daily operation of real time digital channels to ensure customers can confidently navigate the transport network and be informed of changes or disruptions.
If you've worked in digital marketing, social media, a digital newsroom, websites, app and digital content, SEO or a similar area and are interested in being part of an exciting, real time team that keeps the Auckland motorway and public transport network running, this could be the role for you.
As a Network Communication Specialist, you will be a critical part of the Auckland Transport Operations Centre (ATOC), planning and delivering our communications response to incidents and emergencies in real time.
You'll ensure Aucklanders get the information they need; in the channels they need them, to improve their travel experience across the city when there are changes to transport routes or disruptions.
You will work in a matrix environment with media, marketing, transport planning, multiple agencies including Auckland Transport, NZTA, NZ Police, media agencies and infrastructure project teams to ensure we maintain a high standard of consistent, external communications about the transport network.
Key responsibilities include :
Deliver high-quality communications (proactive and reactive) that support the public through changes and disruptions to the transport networkCreate and publish content for web, apps, social media and digital network signage.Draft media releases and responses.Work with the creative team to brief and deliver designs for signs, wayfinding, social media and in-station campaigns about upcoming events or changes on the network.Work and communicate effectively in a control room environment, taking and carrying out instructions promptly, diligently and effectively.Attend event / incident briefings to assess risks and develop key messages, communication and contingency plans for events and incidents on the transport networkWork collaboratively with and influence comms and engagement colleagues across the organisationProvide real time communication support as part of the Public Information Management team in a major incident or emergency.Support the team with rapid response to issues or urgent requests, including drafting communications materials.View the position description .This position will cover late shift hours : 12 : 30pm to 9 : 00pm from Monday to Friday, or Wednesday to Sunday.
Ko koe tenei | About youTo be successful you will bring :Experience in communications or a similar field such as journalism, digital content, social media, marketing, emergency / incident or other real time communications.Excellent communication skills, particularly in the fast and accurate preparation and issue of communications and media management.Calm under pressure - able to respond on your feet and prioritise effectively, in a changing situation.Digital savvy - able to use and manage various digital platforms and systems to quickly publish content, and understand how to tailor messages to the platform and its audience.Strong understanding of media, political, community and reputational environment.Excellent relationship management skills, and be able to proactively build trusted relationships,A collaborative working style, able to work as part of a team and within a wider matrix structureYou will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Maori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Maori.You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of Te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public service.ATOC is a joint venture between Auckland Transport and NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi which works behind the scenes to ensure our network keeps moving and that whoever uses it has a safe and efficient journey.
Based at Smales Farm in Takapuna, ATOC is a 24 / 7 operation responsible for real-time monitoring of the network for both planned and unplanned events, ensuring the right responses are made in a timely manner to deliver safe journeys for our customers.
Additionally, this centre is the eyes and ears of the urban and highway One Network, monitoring a total of over 11,000km of state highways, alongside the Wellington Transport Operation Centre (WTOC).
