About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Quarry Machine Operator to join the team at Alexandra Stone Quarries in Alexandra, Otago. As a Quarry Machine Operator, you will play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of our quarry, operating a range of equipment and heavy machinery to extract, process schist rock for the building and landscape industries.

What you'll be doing

• Process schist using guillotine and saws for building products used in construction and landscaping.
• Operate a variety of quarry machines such as excavators, loaders, and dump trucks to extract and transport materials.
• Conduct pre-start checks and routine maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations to maintain a safe and sustainable work environment.
• Collaborate with the broader quarry team to ensure efficient and coordinated operations.
• Monitor and report on production output and equipment performance.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quarry operations.
